The Last Day in Nepal.

We're all leaving with heavy footsteps, taking with us the good times that we had in Kathmandu and Pokhara, with each other, and leaving the beautiful memories that we had in Nepal. Hoping that the people that we've seen, helped, spoken to will remember our existence, that we once visited them.

Before we depart to the airport, Penny gave us a very heartwarming speech which made Azza, Cun Yi, Eunice and Xin Yi came to tears. And we all know that she was slightly in her sadness that we're leaving, like all of us were. Our memories will keep us close together even though we'll soon be far apart; back to Singapore. But that's still where we belong.

Some of us offered Penny a hug, as farewell.

Second Day in Pokhara.

It started off with another hike!

Once again, our efforts paid off. The scenery was breath-taking and we're all happy after all the tiredness from climbing our way up to the top.

We then went off to another school, not for painting but for teaching the same thing that we taught to the other schools.

Our arrival present.

Everything similar happened again, this time, with more confidence.

[After we finished teaching, exited the school and saw Penny and Laxmi waiting for us by her Jeep. We smelled and saw food! Everyone was hungry, and our lunch for the day contains pizzas and burgers for choices. Then we went back and packed up, getting ready to return to Kathmandu. It was a rushed day.]

A token of appreciation.

First Day at Pokhara.

Went to an international mountain museum.
There was a momentum dedicated to mountaineers who lost their lives during their hike here.
We also get to know the different cultures and different races in Nepal, the names of all the mountains in Nepal and the different species of animals originated in Nepal.

[After the visit, we went to a tourist shop and bought some personal items and souvenirs for friends and families. Then, we head to another school to for voluntary work in painting.]

Some random pictures that're taken on our way to the school.

When we arrived...

There's the staffs and students giving us a sweet and lovely welcome.

The welcome gifts that we received from them.

[For lunch, sandwiches were served to us before we paint the school, providing us energy, we managed to complete the painting of over ten classrooms in four hours' time.]

Dinner in Pokhara, a restaurant named Boomerang - candle lighted dinner at a special event.

The culture dance at Boomerang.

First Hiking Trip in Kathmandu.

We managed to reach the peak!

After the hike we had buffet breakfasts at Hotel Country Villa.

The guard that Penny hired to look after the house where all our valuables are kept at when we're away for the hike and breakfast.

[after the earthquake, Penny promised that she will be bringing us to Pokhara, a tourist attraction place and it's at the western side of Nepal.]

- packed 2 sets of clothings (the night before the hike.)
- arrive in Pokhara at nighttime.

On the way to Pokhara, picture taken when we're in the bus.

Pit stop for toilet break after four hours of continuous travelling by the bus, picture showing the gas station that we stopped at.

First School Painting.

The teachers gathered us and gave us a briefing before we started painting and the three groups settled among themselves of which group shall take which room. Some of us have never painted before and so it's not only a new experience for us, it's holding with a meaningful task. The experienced painters helped us mix the clay with the water; which is the paint in Nepal. And the classes' walls are rough and rocky so it wasn't easy for the paint to cover the portion painted that smoothly.
- wore rubber gloves to paint.
- hired 3 professional painter to assist us and do the touch-up.
- two levels, six classrooms in total that's assigned to us to paint.
- had bee hoon for lunch.

Then, Mr. Teh received an email and broke the devastating news to us. We'll have to go back to Singapore a week earlier due to the earthquake in India affected Nepal, and that the ITE was very concern for our safety. Many were upset and our enthusiasm and mood to paint disappeared instantly so we all just dangled around dwelling over the sudden bad news except for one student, Wei Liang.

Penny, the coordinator, after knowing about this, she was pretty disappointed too as all her plans and efforts done for us were ruined. She then suggested all of us to be involved in a video to show our sincerity to stay longer and send it to the ITE, hoping to have a few days' delay back to Singapore.

After all the drama, the drizzle progressed and many chose to wait for the rain to stop before getting back except for most of the team two members and some team three members. We had great fun running under the rain, back to Penny's house.

The Living Stone Academy.

Lawrence and Wilfred teaching the students regarding information of the interior of the CPU and the usage of different parts of the component in the CPU. We also taught them how to use Picasa (a photoshop software) which was by Ming Cang and Ahmad. Microsoft Word was sadly cancelled due to the lack of time, but then there's the PowerPoint, lectured by Team 2, Hilda's Group, and Excel by Team 3, Jun Yuan's Group.

A candid shot to show how attentive the students were at then, jotting down notes.

We then had lunch that was prepared by Penny and her helpers in the LSA after we ended our duty as teachers.

The ending session was spent leisurely, we enjoyed listening to songs exchange.

Heading back, the skies seemed dark and it soon rained.
---------------------------------------------------------

At about eight o'clock in the night, the ground was trembling hard. We panicked and Jun Yuan was shouting to inform everyone to come out of the room and gather outside, a point where the teachers are at. The next day, some students read the newspaper stating that it was the biggest earthquake since '34 and it left destruction trail; Bristish Embassy wall collapsed on passing vehicles, leaving three dead and two casualties in Dharan.

Trip to the Orphanage.

18:02 - Interactions with the kids. They're filled of hope and happiness, not a slight hint of self-pity.

We gave the children an entertainment tool; a game set (tennis), more educating wise; story books, and then last but not least, useful; clothes. Shahid, one of our YEP trip member performed two songs after we tried out the game set and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

We ended the trip by taking group photos with the children.

First Day in Kathmandu.

You will still feel cold under the hot sun. Feeling the warmth given out why the sunlight sure made everyone felt happier with the sun's appearance unlike in Singapore, where people curse whenever the sun comes out. We're all entralled, anticipating to tour Kathmandu and go to our place of living for the first few days and last few days. Taking a short ride from the airport to (the coordinator) Penny's house took around fifteen minutes. On our way there, we immediately noticed that the environment and the traffic largely differs from Singapore's.

Our welcome meal served in Penny's house.

The bunk for the boys is shown on the left-hand side picture, while for the right-hand side picture shows the girls' room; in the girls' room, there's a bathroom. And since there's only five girls, all the girls shared one room.

Just some pictures to show the daily life of the Nepalese.
